Spirit and Life Devotional is a daily publication by Pastor Chinaemerem Ibezim, senior pastor of Able Ministers Chapel, a church based in Calabar, Cross River State.

“And all the children of Israel complained against Moses and Aaron, and the whole congregation said to them, ‘If only we had died in the land of Egypt! Or if only we had died in this wilderness!'” – Numbers 14:2 NKJV

The journey to the Promised Land was not without tests, temptations and trials. There were days of hunger, thirsting and fear. But a journey of four days ended up being a journey of forty years because of how the Israelites reacted to the tests along the way; they were forgetful: they forgot all the wonders that God did in Egypt, and complained all the time for things they could have just requested for.

In your walk with God I need you to understand that you will be tested and tried. God will test you and Satan will tempt you: life will also try you. Listen, no one has immunity from these things even if you have faith as great as Mount Everest! That your faith will be tested!

God is taking you somewhere and you will get there in Jesus name. He’s taking you to a wealthy place; He’s taking you to your dream job; He’s taking you to your dream marriage and home; He’s taking you to everything you have desired and prayed for: there will be tests along the way, and it’s my prayer that you will pass all your tests and respond to them with the right attitude, in Jesus name. Amen.
