Spirit and Life Devotional: Faith For A Year

Must read

Spirit and Life Devotional is a daily publication by Pastor Chinaemerem Ibezim, senior pastor of Able Ministers Chapel, a church based in Calabar, Cross River State.

“And I have led you forty years in the wilderness. Your clothes have not worn out on you, and your sandals have not worn out on your feet.” – Deuteronomy 29:5 NKJV

A new year elicits different feelings in us: optimism, pessimism, hope, worry, faith and fear.

If you’re worried and afraid, you need to relax and consider the fact that God took care of the whole nation of Israel for forty years in the wilderness. For forty whole years they did not have to spend money on food and drinks, God provided for them supernaturally. Clothes and shoes were not a problem; God preserved their clothes so that it remained in a new state from day one till the end.

Quite a number of you reading this are not up to forty years. If you’re thirty, you’ll agree with me that forty years is a very long time. Now, if God so cared for the Israelites for forty years, then just one year to take care of you is nothing to Him. Listen, God can take care of your entire generations for the next one million years and He won’t need to move an inch from His throne to do that!

March into 2017 full of faith in God! Take your eyes off your current situation; take your eyes off your analysis and the predictions of men; keep your eyes on the Lord and trust Him to make the new year your best year! Hallelujah!
