When the Israelites proclaimed the Lord to be their God, and that they would walk in His ways and keep His statutes, His commandments, and His judgments, and that they would obey His voice, God also proclaimed them to be His special people. And He magnified them; He made them a great and prosperous nation.
Now, that promise in the Old Testament wasn’t for the Israelites alone. Today, through Christ, we too have become heirs of His promises. Since we have believed, we too have become His special people. 1 Peter 2:9 days, “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.” Hallelujah!
That’s not all! Being His special people God will also set us high above all people and nations which He has made, in praise, in name, and in honour! Yeah! Say Amen! Glory to God!
