“Beloved, do not imitate what is evil, but what is good. He who does good is of God, but he who does evil has not seen God.” III John 1:11
We all have the knowledge of good and evil, ever since Adam and Eve ate of the tree in the garden of Eden. Not only do we have the knowledge, we also have the ability to do good and evil.
As children of God, the will of God is that we only do good and not evil. Romans 16:19 says, “I want you to be wise in what is good, and simple concerning evil.” And Romans 12:9 and 21 says, “Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”
Irrespectively of what people do to you, never do them evil; don’t even think about it. Jesus said, “Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.” Matthew 5:44-45
