“So they departed and went through the towns, preaching the gospel and healing everywhere.” Luke 9:6 NKJV

A lot of people have no idea of what ministry is really about. You see, ministry is about meeting the needs of people and solving problems. In ministry, you’ll encounter a lot of people with different kinds of needs, financial, emotional and spiritual. Jesus said He was anointed to preach the gospel to  the  poor; to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, and to set at liberty those who are oppressed. Those are real needs!

And that’s why we must preach with power. Preaching is not about phonetics and the use of big grammar; speak well but don’t forget your assignment! The Bible says that Jesus called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases. He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. Hallelujah! Paul said, “And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.”

Have you received the Holy Spirit since you believed? Acts 1:8 says, “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Receive the Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus! And be filled with the Spirit all the time. Do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit! Glory to God!
