Judges 9.51 “But there was a strong tower in the city, and all the men and women—all the people of the city—fled there and shut themselves in; then they went up to the top of the tower.”
The Bible says that Abimelech went to Thebez, encamped against the city and actually took it. But within the city, there was a strong tower where all the people fled to for safety. It was a strong and high tower: the Bible says that they all went to the top of the tower. Abimelech attacked the tower, but there, he met his waterloo.
Proverbs 18.10 says “The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.” Hallelujah!
I don’t know who or what is troubling you; don’t know who’s chasing you, harassing you, victimizing you, or fighting you with every power they’ve got; it might even be a reoccurring sickness or disease; brothers and sisters, the name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe!
When the apostles were threatened, they went to their company and reported, and they all raised their voice to God with one accord: they said, “Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus.”
And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness! Glory to God!
