If there’s one thing that a lot of people are looking for, it is the blessing. They are praying for the blessing, they are even meeting people to pray for them to be blessed, but nothing seems to be happening, or they get just a measure. They don’t know how it works.
God loves a cheerful giver. Take time to meditate on that. Doesn’t God love everybody? Of course He does! God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son! But, He has a special love for cheerful givers!
Paul received things from the Philippian believers, which he described as “a sweet-smelling aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God.” He wrote to them, “I am full, having received from Epaphroditus the things sent from you.” And then he blessed them, “And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
People are claiming blessings when they are not giving! No, it’s not your normal offerings! This is something special that gets attention! The kind of money that Joses brought, which made the apostles give him a new name, “Barnabas,” meaning “Son of Encouragement.”
