Probably the greatest gift any human being could receive from God – His abiding presence. In the Old Testament, they pleaded for His presence: Moses said, “If your Presence doesn’t go with us, lead us not from here.” And David cried, “Take not your Spirit from me!”
The presence of God with a man signifies approval, and it’s a guarantee of success, security and support. God was with Joseph, and because of that, the Bible called him a prosperous man. The presence of God left king Saul and he began to be tormented by evil spirits. Trouble from different quarters comes when God is not with a man; he becomes a prey for the devil.
The disciples must have been overjoyed when Jesus said to them as He was leaving the earth; “And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:20.
That promise is for us too! Jesus is always with us! Hallelujah! Jesus also said, “And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you.
No, I will not abandon you as orphans—I will come to you.” John 14:16, 18.
Oh, I’m grateful for the presence of the Holy Ghost!
