“And he gives grace generously. As the Scriptures say, ‘God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.’” – James 4:6 NLT
Grace is sufficient and abundant, but not everyone can access it, or be a beneficiary of it; grace is for the humble and not the proud.
God does not help or bless proud people, instead, He opposes them. Now that’s something to be afraid of! When a man is resisted by God Himself, there’s really no hope for him; he has no chance at all! Such a man is doomed to fail. No wonder the Bible says that pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.
Knowledge puffs up, but love edifies. Don’t let what you think you know, or who you think you are affect your senses. It doesn’t matter what you think you’ve accomplished in life, stay humble, and remember God as your Source. Stay humble in relation to other people too.
And you know, a constant prayer life is a sign of humility, because you are reaching out to God, and depending on Him. Grace is yours today and always, in Jesus name. Amen.
