Spirit and Life Devotional is a daily publication by Pastor Chinaemerem Ibezim, senior pastor of Able Ministers Chapel, a church based in Calabar, Cross River State.
“Then he said, ‘Beware! Guard against every kind of greed. Life is not measured by how much you own.’” Luke 12:15 NLT
Greed, according to Cambridge Dictionary, is defined as, a very strong wish to continuously get more of something.
The problem of a greedy man is not that he doesn’t have; his problem is that he is lusting for more and more of what he already has. In other words, he is not satisfied with what he has. He wants more and more, and more, especially for the wrong reasons: he thinks that having more will increase his value and boost his ego.
Listen people: God shall supply all our needs, not our greed. Did you get that? If your prayer is motivated by your greed know now that you won’t receive any answer from God. We must have the right motives when we pray. Amen.
