Spirit and Life Devotional: Yet I Will Rejoice

Must read

Spirit and Life Devotional is a daily publication by Pastor Chinaemerem Ibezim, senior pastor of Able Ministers Chapel, a church based in Calabar, Cross River State.

[pull_quote_center]”Even though the fig trees have no blossoms, and there are no grapes on the vines; even though the olive crop fails, and the fields lie empty and barren; even though the flocks die in the fields, and the cattle barns are empty, yet I will rejoice in the Lord! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation!” – Habakkuk 3:17‭-‬18 NLT[/pull_quote_center]

You see, we don’t rejoice because everything is alright; no, rejoicing has nothing to do with the present circumstances: we rejoice despite the way things are.

1 Thessalonians 5:16 says, “Always be joyful.” Be joyful whether there’s money or not; be joyful whether there are children or not; be joyful whether you were promoted or not; whether you have a job or not; whether you got the visa or not; whether you won or lost the contract; whether your relationship is good or not; whether you are heartbroken or not! Always be joyful!

Being joyful always is a choice that you have to make. And it’s about the greatest expression of faith in God. Don’t let the enemy rob you of your joy! Rejoice in the Lord; joy in the God of your salvation. That you have God is enough reason to rejoice: for He is good, and His mercies endure forever! Hallelujah!
