Spirit And Life Devotional: Doing Good

Must read

[pull_quote_center]”Beloved, do not imitate what is evil, but what is good. He who does good is of God, but he who does evil has not seen God.” III John 1:11 NKJV[/pull_quote_center]

You reveal who you really are, good or bad, by the things that you do. If you do good you show that you are of God, and if you do evil you show that you aren’t a Christian. This is clearly not about what you claim to be, actions speak louder than words!

Trees are known by their fruits. “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things.” A Christian doesn’t struggle to do good because it’s his nature to do good; he is kind to others, he gives to the needy, he is sympathetic, his words uplift and encourage, he is willing to help, he assists strangers, etc, because there’s a treasure of goodness in him.

Jesus said, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” You’ve got to be known for doing good. When people talk about you what do they say? When Dorcas died people had only good things to say about her; they showed Peter the clothes she made for them: be inspired by that. Jesus went about doing good! Acts 10:38.
