Some people are professional dream killers: they will always discourage you from doing what you want to do; they’re so negative; they have a thousand and one reasons why it cannot be done, or why you are not qualified to get it done. Such persons should never be the most important people in your life.
Jonathan was literally on a suicide mission: going in faith, with just his armour bearer to fight an army! (Faith in God can actually make you do the unthinkable). Instead of the armour bearer to think of escaping death, he encouraged Jonathan to go ahead and gave him his full support. He went with Jonathan!
It’s not enough to surround yourself with people; what kind of people are they? How do they respond to your dreams and visions? Do they energize or discourage you? Most importantly, are they willing to ride with you, all the way, or will they leave you to struggle on your own? Anyone who is unwilling to support your dreams and visions is anything else other than a reliable friend. Sometimes, the people that stand by us are not family members and friends that we expected to be there for us. Know who’s who in your life. May God bless you with true helpers, in Jesus name. Amen.
