Deuteronomy 28:13 NLT “If you listen to these commands of the lord your God that I am giving you today, and if you carefully obey them, the lord will make you the head and not the tail, and you will always be on top and never at the bottom.”
A lot of us want to be on top, we want to excel, we want to be great, we want to do well – we want to be champions. The good news is that God wants us to be above too! It is God’s will for every member of His church to be the head and not the tail. That includes you! We ought to be a Kingdom of Champions.
You may not be the head now, you might even be on the bottom rung of the ladder as you read this devotional; but I assure you that if you continue to do the word of God, you will soon be on top. Holman Christian Standard Bible says, “you will only move upward and never downward,” and the English Standard Version says, “you shall only go up and not down”. Hallelujah!
Deuteronomy 28:11-13 says “The lord will give you prosperity in the land he swore to your ancestors to give you, blessing you with many children, numerous livestock, and abundant crops. The lord will send rain at the proper time from his rich treasury in the heavens and will bless all the work you do. You will lend to many nations, but you will never need to borrow from them. If you listen to these commands of the lord your God that I am giving you today, and if you carefully obey them, the lord will make you the head and not the tail, and you will always be on top and never at the bottom.” Amen!
