There’s honour you won’t enjoy until you begin to serve. There’s a reason why we are called servants of Christ: it’s not only men of God who are servants of Christ; we are all His servants (Colossians 3:24).
To qualify for honour you must be a good and faithful servant. Yes, it matters how you serve. And you must understand what it means to serve: it’s more than cleaning the church; not everyone will serve in that capacity: service is using your gifts and resources for His glory; service is doing whatever responsibility and assignment that He has given you well; and by serving the people in our lives – at home, at work, in school, etc, we are serving Christ.
You must always be willing to serve, and serve with the right attitude. Serve with joy; serve with humility and reverence; serve faithfully and honestly; and serve with diligence and excellence. Don’t worry about man’s response to your service, God will surely honour you at the right time if you don’t give up. Amen.
