Spirit and Life Devotional is a daily publication by Pastor Chinaemerem Ibezim, senior pastor of Able Ministers Chapel, a church based in Calabar, Cross River State.
“For the children of Israel walked forty years in the wilderness, till all the people who were men of war, who came out of Egypt, were consumed, because they did not obey the voice of the Lord —to whom the Lord swore that He would not show them the land which the Lord had sworn to their fathers that He would give us, ‘a land flowing with milk and honey.’” Joshua 5:6
About 2.4 million people came out of Egypt, but only 2 adults, Joshua and Caleb, entered the Promised Land. Think about that for a minute.
You cannot have a meaningful relationship with God if you are living in disobedience to His word. He is no respecter of persons. However, a life of obedience will qualify you for His very best.
Christianity is not about how well you can speak in other tongues; if you are not obeying God you are nothing. There’s no substitute for obedience. Everything you need from God is on the other side of obedience. “If they obey and serve Him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures. But if they do not obey, they shall perish by the sword, and they shall die without knowledge.” Job 36:11-12
Have a blessed and fruitful week.
