Spirit And Life Devotional: Sorrow Turned To Joy

Must read

Spirit and Life Devotional is a daily publication by Pastor Chinaemerem Ibezim, senior pastor of Able Ministers Chapel, a church based in Calabar, Cross River State.

[pull_quote_center]”A woman, when she is in labor, has sorrow because her hour has come; but as soon as she has given birth to the child, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world.” John 16:21 [/pull_quote_center]

Giving birth to something great is not always so easy, it often requires a lot of pain and sacrifice. Nothing great comes easily; the blood, toil, tears, and sweat of people made it great and successful.

Not wanting to give birth because of the pain of labour means that you’ll not experience the joy of having a baby. Not wanting to suffer automatically means that you will not enjoy the glory. Just because it’s difficult doesn’t mean that it shouldn’t be done, for you to succeed you must be willing to pay the price!

I read that active labour may take about 8 hours, could be longer or shorter: during that time a woman is in pain; but as soon as her baby is born her sorrow turns to joy. And guess what: she’ll enjoy her baby for so many years to come. Weeping may endure for the night, but joy comes in the morning! Bear the pain, don’t quit just because it’s tough, you’re only in a phase; God will crown your efforts with success, and your sorrow will be turned to joy! Amen.
