This stunning picture shows a passenger jet being struck by lightning as it flew through a rainbow.
The Boeing 777 was hit by the huge bolt as it came in to land at a German airport.
Photographer Birk Möbius caught the images at the Aerodrome in Taucha in the eastern part of the country.
As planes have metal bodies it makes them vulnerable to lightning strikes.
But passengers rarely notice when they happen, according to research.
According to the Scientific American these events are very common with each plane in the US commercial fleet experiencing a lightning strike at least once a year
However, the chances of capturing one on camera are very remote – never mind one perfectly aligned with a rainbow.
