Abdullahi Sule, the governor of Nasarawa State, on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, has appointed a former Head of Service and Commissioner for Finance in the state, Dominic Bako as the pioneer Director-General of the newly establish Bureau for Public Procurement, BPP.
Sule said the establishment of the bureau was to ensure transparency and accountability in the public procurement process in the state, with development partners.
He directs members of the state executive council, to henceforth, send every item requiring expenditure, to the Nasarawa State Bureau for Public Procurement, for vetting.
He emphasized that this has become necessary for the state to keep in line with the States Fiscal Transparency, Accountability, and Sustainability, SIFTAS, Programme-for-Results, PforR.
