Sultan Declares Monday 1st Jumada Assaniya

Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, the Sultan of Sokoto and president of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, NSCIA, has declared Monday,  January, 27, 2020 as the first day of Jumada Assaniya 1441AH.

The declaration according to the Sultanate Council Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs in conjunction with the National Moon Sighting Committee is sequel to the non receipt of from various moon committees confirming the sighting of the new moon of Jumada Assaniya 1441AH last Saturday, January 25, 2020 which was equivalent to 29th Jumadal Ula1441AH.

However, contained in a statement dated January 26, 2020 made available to journalists on Monday, January 27, 2020, by Sambo Wali Junaidu, Wazirin Sokoto and chairman, Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs, “Abubakar accepted the report and declared Monday, January 27, 2020, as first day of Jumada Assaniya1441AH accordingly”, Junaidu said in the statement.
