AMMAN, Jordan — Dr Talal Abu-Ghazaleh will launch a new global digital polytechnic on August 19, offering practical training for people seeking skills for the digital economy.
The Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global Digital Polytechnic, known as TAG.GDP, will be unveiled through a virtual international conference coinciding with World Humanitarian Day.
Abu-Ghazaleh, chairman and founder of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global Digital Group, said the institution would focus on connecting education directly with changing labour-market needs.
The polytechnic will provide training in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, financial technology, digital marketing, innovation and digital leadership.
Its programmes will emphasise practical projects and applied learning rather than classroom theory alone, with the aim of preparing participants to use their skills directly in professional environments.
TAG.GDP will operate entirely online, allowing students to learn from any location and at flexible times.
Courses will initially be offered in Arabic, English, French, Spanish and Chinese.
The institution also intends to make its programmes accessible without conventional academic entry requirements, an approach designed to expand opportunities for young people and workers seeking new professional skills.
Particular attention will be given to learners in the Global South, where access to specialised technology education can be limited by cost, geography and infrastructure.
Participants will be able to progress through different learning levels and receive digital professional certificates demonstrating competencies acquired through their studies.
TAG.GDP said it would work with international institutions to strengthen the recognition and relevance of its programmes.
The August 19 virtual launch is expected to attract academics, researchers, technology professionals, institutional representatives and others interested in education and the future of work.
Abu-Ghazaleh said the initiative reflects a broader vision of education as a tool for creating economic opportunity and developing human capacity in an increasingly technology-driven world.
