Traders In Tears As Ilorin Shopping Complex Destroyed By Fire

A fire disaster gutted a shopping complex in Ilorin in the wee hours of Monday destroying goods worth N19.5 million.

The fire burnt 15 shops in a shopping complex comprising 20 shops at Atiba-Iyalamu Oja-Tuntun Area, in Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State.

Hassan Adekunle, the spokesperson of the state fire service, disclosed in Ilorin on Monday, November 14, 2022, that “the fire outbreak occurred at midnight hour today, 14th November 2022, and no one was able to notice the ravaging inferno on time.”

However, men of the state fire service were able to immediately check the further spread of the inferno and subsequently eliminated it and saved the surrounding buildings from the inferno.

Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa, the director, Kwara State Fire Service, urged the general public particularly the market traders to always play safe in their day-to-day activities.
