TRAGIC: 20 Persons Burnt Beyond Recognition In Kano Fire Incident

A late-night fire incident has claimed over 20 persons at Sheka, Kano State. The victims were said to have been burnt beyond recognition.

Similarly, Kano Municipal was also thrown into mourning as a night fire incident killed a 35-year-old mother, alongside her three-year-old baby while they were asleep.

The inferno occurred at Gandun Albasa-Bala Barodo in Kano Municipal Local Government.

The Kano State Fire Service confirmed the incidents through its Public Relations Officer, Saminu Yusif Abdullahi.

He said they received a distress call from one Ibrahim Ashiru that a five-room bungalow was completely razed.

Saminu said that the victims were rescued unconscious and handed over to Inspector Shehu Lawan of Kwali Police Station, adding that doctors on duty at Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital confirmed them dead.

They decried rising cases of fire disasters as over twenty people were burnt beyond recognition in a late-night fire on Thursday at Sheka Karshen Kwalta.

He added that twenty sheep and eight grain silos were also burnt to ashes in Kunchi Local Government Area of the State.
