Naval Top Shot, Rear Admiral Ikoli, Commits Suicide In His Lagos Home

Rear Admiral Teikumo Daniel Ikoli has allegedly committed suicide at his home in Lagos.

Ikoli is believed to have shot himself in the early hours of Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at his residence in the Apapa area of Lagos, a Channels TV report said.

The report quoted a statement from the Headquarters of the Western Naval Command as explaining that gunshots were heard near Teikumo’s house and when his room was opened, the Naval officer was found dead.

“The Navy did not explain what could have led to the alleged suicide but it adds in its statement that the police have been invited and investigations have commenced into the incident,” the report said.

Rear Admiral was a member of the committee on arms deal and until now, and the Fleet Commander, Western Naval Command.

This high profile suicide comes two weeks after a medical doctor committed suicide by jumping off the 3rd Mainland Bridge into the Lagos Lagoon on a Sunday evening.
