LONDON, The United Kingdom – King Charles III is set to leave the hospital shortly, following a successful procedure for an enlarged prostate. The monarch, aged 75, has been recuperating at the hospital where he was joined by Queen Camilla, who visited him over the weekend.
According to a Daily Mail report, the procedure is understood to have gone well.
Queen Camilla has been by the King’s side, visiting him on Saturday and Sunday after accompanying him to the hospital on Friday, January 26, 2024.
In a reassuring update, she mentioned that King Charles III was doing “fine”, though he is expected to take a brief hiatus from public engagements for approximately a week.
The royal family has been in the public eye at the hospital, not only for King Charles’s treatment but also as Kate Middleton is currently there recovering from abdominal surgery.
It’s believed that King Charles paid a visit to the Duchess of Cambridge before undergoing his own medical procedure.
Despite the successful treatment, the mood at Buckingham Palace has been described as “subdued.” Sources reported by The Daily Beast indicated that the king’s health condition has served as an “unwelcome reminder” of his advancing age.
Nevertheless, King Charles’s team has conveyed his determination to maintain his usual pace.
They have indicated that he plans to handle paperwork from his hospital bed in the coming week, underscoring his commitment to his royal duties even while in recovery.
