The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has made an emphatic statement, saying that it was close to winning the forthcoming general elections, given the wide acceptance President Goodluck Jonathan and other PDP candidates have been having.
Speaking via a statement issued on Thursday, March 12, 2015, the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Olisa Metuh said the PDP campaign train was on course, thanking party faithfuls who showed concern over the rumours that its National Chairman, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu had resigned.
He said: “The party is very impressed with the quality of leadership President Jonathan is providing in the campaigns, which runs on his enviable performance and numerous verifiable achievements in all sectors of the economy.
“President Jonathan has left no one in doubt that he is a national leader and one of the greatest bastions of Nigeria’s unity. He has remained committed to the stability and progress of our great country, a stance, which has continued to endear him to the electorates. Indeed, the PDP is very proud of him and his leadership.”
Metuh further said that President Jonathan’s achievements had touched every sector of the economy and impacted positively on all Nigerians regardless of cadre, class, tribe, religion and gender.
