A 55-year old woman who probably couldn’t bear losing her mother decided to sleep beside her decomposing remains on the same bed in her apartment for five years in Blumenau, Munich, Germany.
Neighbours, unaware that the 83-year-old woman was dead became suspicious when they haven’t seen her in years and decided to check on her only for the deceased daughter to decline them entry into the house.
According to reports on Wednesday, November 19, 2014, the police were forced to act when the social workers were sent packing by the unidentified woman who refused to answer her calls.
Firefighters were called and found the mummified corpse in the same bed with her daughter who confessed that her mother had died in 2009, and she had been sleeping next to the body for five years.
The woman, was subsequently taken for psychiatric tests and an autopsy found no indication of foul play.
