After his controversial long walk from Lagos State to the Federal Capital Territory, Suleiman Hashimu, now dubbed ‘The Buharian Traveller’ finally met the president-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari, whose victory in the presidential polls inspired his rare action.
Hashimu’s claims of having made the journey from Lagos to Abuja in 19 days has been disputed by experts and he failed to document the trip either from the starting point or at major stops. Award winning filmmaker, Charles Novia called him a liar on social media.
Hashimu who met Buhari in Abuja on Friday, April 24, 2015 has fulfilled his major dream after he walked the talk in fulfilling his vow to go all the way on foot if Buhari emerged the winner at the 2015 presidential polls.
The 33-year-old man was given a grand welcome after his arrival in Abuja on Monday, April 20, 2015.
