10 Makeup Tricks That Can Help You Fake A Good Night’s Sleep

Must read

When you’ve had a good night out, the morning after doesn’t always look so good. So, if you want to go to work and still look like you had a good night’s sleep, then read these essential 10 makeup tricks that can help you fake a good night’s sleep:

1. Start with a splash of cold water

Forget the makeup tricks! Before you even start, a splash of cold water on your face will wake up you and your skin. It brings back some of the colour in your face and it will make you look more alert, before you’ve even started on the makeup.

2. Hydrate

One more thing, before we really get into the makeup tricks, drink glass of water. If you’ve been up all night, then it is quite likely that you have become dehydrated. A glass of water will make you look more awake than any makeup will ever do.

3. Hide the dark circles

Before you apply any concealer, gently wipe your under eye area with something cold, like an ice cube, or cooled tea bag. The cold will reduce any puffiness and help to remove the dark circles under your eyes. (Avoid putting ice at the same place for too long, as ice can also burn your skin, so be very careful!)

4. Break out the concealer

Concealer is the tired girl’s best friend. If you haven’t slept very well the night before, then concealer will help to hide dark circles under the eyes, as well as redness around the mouth and nose, which can be caused by a lack of sleep.

5. Brighten up the eyes

It’s your eyes that are most likely to give the game away. So, brighten them up with some white eyeliner applied to the inner corners of your eyes. It will make your eyes look bigger, and wide awake.

6. Don’t use dark eyeshadow

Use a fresh, light tone of eyeshadow, and certainly not a dark shade. You can then use a gold toned eyeshadow over that, to give your eyes more of a sparkle and shine.

7. Curl your lashes

Even of you don’t have time to apply mascara, you should at least curl your lashes. Curling your lashes will open up your eyes and will instantly make you look awake, fresh and more like you enjoyed a good night’s sleep.

8. Add some colour to your cheeks

Applying some blush to the apples of your cheeks is the easiest way to put some colour and glow back in your complexion. Blush is a must for the days when you need to make yourself look more awake and fresh.

9. Make your lips the centre of attention

You can draw people’s attention away from your tired eyes by brightening up your lips. A bright, but natural looking pink will work wonders. It looks so fresh and alive, people won’t even notice that you can barely keep your eyes open!

10. Use a bronzer

When you are tired, your skin can look pale. The simplest way to remedy that quickly is to use bronzer to bring some colour and glow to your skin. Bronzer, bright lips and blush on your cheeks; these alone can hide the fact you haven’t had enough sleep.

What are your best makeup tips and tricks that help you fake a good night’s sleep?

Stay beautiful and be happy!
