JUST IN: Stand-off At Aso Rock As #BringBackOurGirls Group Insist On Seeing Buhari

There is a stand-off at the entrance to the presidential villa, Abuja, as members of the Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG) group are insisting on meeting President Muhammadu Buhari as part of their mega rally which was held on Thursday, January 14, 2016.

According to Premium Times, the group, which had some parents of the missing Chibok girls marched towards the Presidential Villa but were met by a team which consisted of the Minister of Women Affairs, Aisha Al-Hassan, as well as the Minister of Defense, Monsur Dan-Ali, the National Security Adviser, Mohammed Monguno, and the Chief of Defense Staff, Abayomi Olonishakin.

Speaking on behalf of the group was former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili, who said they had come to see the President as regards the promise he made to them during their initial visit on Wednesday, July 8, 2015.

Alhassan on her part pleaded with the group, stating that it was impossible to see the president owing to the short notice given by the group. Moreseo she availed that the President was in a meeting with the visiting President of the Republic of Benin..
