2 Drug Traffickers Swallow 132 Wraps Of Cocaine For $5,000 Each

Two drug traffickers, Patrick Otaka, 48, and 32-year-old Ikechuwku David, have been arrested and found to have swallowed ee to swallow 132 wraps of cocaine weighing 2.7kg with hope to receive $5,000 each in return.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, arrested the duo at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano State on their return from Kenya aboard an Ethiopian Airline flight.

While parading the suspects, NDLEA Commander at the airport, Ambrose Umoru, said Otaka had ingested 72 wraps of cocaine weighing 1.450kg while David swallowed 60 wraps weighing 1.250kg, according to Pulse.

In a confessional statement, Otaka, from Ohafia who and a trader in Aba said he wanted to make the quick money to be able to pay his children’s school fees.

He said, “I sell clothes in Aba but my business has suffered serious setbacks. I wanted to use the money to pay my children’s school fees.”

On the other hand, David is an apprentice at the Alaba International Market, Lagos State.

The NDLEA commander said, “The suspects were nabbed on their way from Kenya. Interim investigation revealed that they were recruited by one source and were promised the sum of $5,000 each.”
