Two herders Muhammed Abu and Musa Saliu have been arrested by men of the Ondo State Security Network known as Amotekun Corps for using their cows to destroy crops at Irese community in Ifedore Local Government area.

Also, 200 cows of the two herders were arrested and taken to the headquarters of the Amotekun Corps in Akure.

The two herders claimed they came into Ondo from Ilorin in Kwara state.

It was gathered that a farmer in the community alerted the Amotekun Corps after the herders allegedly attempted to shoot another farmer for asking them to leave his farm.

Ondo Amotekun Commander, Chief Adetunji Adeleye, said any herder who breached the open grazing order of the State Government would be arrested and prosecuted.

Adeleye stated the head of Fulani group would be invited to identify the cows and the owners for further actions.

Three suspected pipeline vandals were also arrested in Ore, headquarters of Odigbo Local Government.

Names of the suspects were given as Mushood Agboola, Taye Akande and Gbenga Akinluyi.

Adeleye said his men, while on patrol, laid an ambush for the suspects after noticing some cuts in the pipeline area.

One of the suspects, 45- year- old Moshood Agboola, who hails from Osun state, said it was Akande who told him where he could get iron scraps beside the pipeline.

He said Akande took him to the location, stating: “I have never been there before. Next thing I saw was the Amotekun men that came to arrest us.”
