2023: ‘We will rebuff all ploys of deceit and calumny’ – Peter Obi

Peter Obi, the Labour Party, LP, Presidential candidate, and former Governor of Anambra, has said he is committed to issue-based and clean campaigns.

Obi also warned that he will rebuff all ploys to spread deceit and calumny to create disaffection among Nigerians.

Obi in a statement on his verified Twitter handle, on Thursday,  August 18, 2022, alleged that some opposition parties are promoting fake news and blaming him for it.

He cautioned other political parties against fake news and misinformation, assuring that he will rebuff all ploys of deceit and calumny meant to create disaffection among Nigeria’s voting population, who desire credible leadership change.

He wrote “As we approach the official kick-off of the 2023 election campaigns, it has become evident that the opposition has adopted the negative strategy of trolling, fake news, and misinformation in the social media space and blaming the LP’s presidential candidate and their supporters of same.

“We remain resolute in our commitment to an issue-based and clean campaign.

“We will also rebuff all such ploys of deceit and calumny meant to create disaffection among Nigeria’s voting population, who desire credible leadership change. – PO”.
