3 Suspected Kidnappers Gunned Down In Anambra

Three suspected kidnappers have been gunned down by an anti-kidnapping squad of the Anambra State Police Command in the Nnewi axis of the state.

While narrating the exploit, the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Andrew Enwerem, said the operatives trailed the kidnappers to Nnewi where they killed.

Enwerem said, “The police operatives killed the suspects during a gun battle at Nnewi, Anambra State last Tuesday. The police successfully rescued the captives unhurt, while the lifeless bodies of the suspects were brought back to Imo State Police Headquarters, Owerri.”

According to Daily Post, the slain suspects usually kidnapped their victim’s from various parts of the state before transferring them to their hideout in Nnewi.

The police spokesperson added, “On spotting the police operatives as they were heading to the hideout, the kidnappers opened fire, which was returned by the policemen.

‘’However, when the firing died down, the three suspects laid dead but the victims were rescued unhurt.”

Meanwhile, one of the kidnapped victims identified as Mr. Lazarus Ezuka narrated how he was abducted at Akatta, Oru East local council area of Imo State on Tuesday, April 28, 2015.

According to him, he passed through hell in the den of the kidnappers before he was finally rescued.
