The ring leader, Dare said: “I was born and brought up in Mushin but I live in Ota. I am from Osun State.

“Apart from Kamuri, Fatai and Afeez did not know the job was to assassinate somebody. They thought it was an electioneering job, because I did not tell them everything.

“I was arrested when I went to collect the advance payment of N300,000 for the job.

“We wanted to use the money from the job for Christmas celebration. I promised to pay Fatai N10,000 for showing his gun to the Chairman (the client). We wanted to dupe the Chairman; we did not intend to kill anyone.”
