A baby who was found on fire in the middle of a residential street on Friday, January 16, 2015 had reportedly died following the severity of the injuries.
Police were called to the scene in Pemberton Township, New Jersey, US, at around 11PM local time on the fateful day.
The baby whose name, gender and age have not yet been revealed was taken to hospital but later died.
According to Sky News, the officials helped to curb the fire although it was sadly too late as the baby had already sustained serious burns injuries.
The Burlington County Prosecutor Robert Bernardi confirmed the death and assured that investigation into the cause of the fire was yet to be concluded.A different account of the story had it that witnesses said they saw a woman set the baby ablaze.
IA woman was apprehended at the scene.
