Elders from the Borno, Yobe and Adamawa states under the aegis of  Borno-Yobe People’s Forum, have called on the Federal Government not to extend the State of Emergency in place, after its expiration, as it has not served the purpose for which it was invoked.

The current state of emergency in place expires on April 19, 2014.

They also noted that a thorough consideration for implementation  of the various reports presented to the FG over the insurgency in the region would reveal the sponsors of Boko Haram.

Some of the reports include the 2009 Reports of the National Security Adviser, Chief of Defence Staff, Inspector General of Police, the Ambassador Usman Gaji Galtimari and the Tanimu Turaki Presidential Committee Reports.
