EXTREME? Boy, 19, Cuts Off His Hand To Stop His Addiction To The Internet

Must read

In a desperate attempt to curb his addiction to the internet, a teenage boy had amputated his left hand with a kitchen knife which he smuggled out of the house.

The 19-year-old boy from Nantong in the Jiangsu province China was probably trying to obey the Biblical injunction of cutting off any part of the body that would lead one to sin.

After severing the hand at a public bench, the boy simply referred to as Little Wang abandoned the hand on the ground and called a cab to take him to a nearby hospital.

Police officials recovered the bleeding hand and subsequently rushed the victim to a nearby hospital.

According to Mirror UK, the boy’s mum had gone into his bedroom in the night of Wednesday, January 28, 2015 only to see a written note which said, “Mum, I have gone to hospital for a while.
“Don’t worry. I will definitely come back this evening.”

At the hospital, the severed hand was successfully reattached by some surgeons who feared that the affected hand might not be able to perform the normal functions.
The trend of internet addiction is really on a fast rise since the world has turned to a global village with virtually everything done over the internet.

An army psychologist, Tao Ran, who manages a well-known Beijing rehab centre for internet addicts, estimated around 14% of China’s young people were addicted to the internet.

“They only do two things: sleeping and playing,”said Ran.
