What would have been a Sunday morning tragedy was averted after police detected explosives in Living Faith Church a.k.a Winners; Chapel, Owerri on Sunday, June 15, 2014.

Two Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) were discovered in the church at Port Harcourt Road Branch, Owerri, Imo state.

The commissioner of Police in the state, Abdumajid Ali, has confirmed the event saying the explosives were quickly detonated after being uncovered and six suspects have been arrested.

A worshipper, Onumara Onyekachi, who spoke with the press said, “I was about getting ready for the second service when a friend posted this “Breaking News!!!!!! Police Anti Bomb squad has just detonated two bomb explosives planted at Winner Chapel PH road Owerri”
