Suicide bombers are suspected to have detonated bombs along Maiduguri Damboa Road in the fringes of the Maiduguri metropolis, an official says.

The second explosion occurred on Saturday, October 29, 2016 close to an Internally Displaced persons, IDPs, camp.

The first blast occurred in the Bakassi IDP Camp of Maiduguri and the second bomb blast at NNPC Depot Damboa Road, an eyewitness told journalists.

As the security and response agencies moved to the two scenes of the explosions,  PRNigeria gathered that 9 dead bodies and 24 injured victims have been recorded so far.

The spokesperson of National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, in Maiduguri, Abdulkadir Ibrahim only confirmed the efforts of rescue and health workers in the  evacuation of wounded victims to Hospitals for treatment while the dead bodies have been deposited in the mortuary.

The bombing is believed to be the work of Boko Haram, the Islamist terrorist group that has murdered over 50,000 people since 2009 in a quest to establish an Islamic caliphate in Nigeria.
