As reported earlier, a Lagos government’s Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) vehicle knocked and killed a motorcycle rider and his two passengers at Awoyaya along Lekki-Epe Expressway.
The incident which happened around noon on Sunday, July 6, 2014 was said to have happened when a police van was chasing the okada rider in order to arrest him for plying on the route, which happens to be illegal.
In the process of trying to get away from the police van, the bike ran into an oncoming BRT vehicle, which crushed them to death instantly.
Area boys around the vicinity immediately gathered and set the police van ablaze, chasing any police van or personnel in sight. It was not until military men waded into the matter that sanity was restored.
