Award winning Nigerian singer, Davido has jumped the gun ahead of The Headies Awards organizers. The 22-year-old is known to be a big fan of YBNL music artiste, Lil Kesh and even played a prominent role in Kesh’s hit single. Shoki remix.
Taking to Twitter, Davido declared Lil Kesh the winner of the highly coveted Next Rated category of the Headies Awards which comes up later this year. Davido urged the YBNL artiste to pull a Kanye on the award organizers if he is not declared winner. “LIL KESH IS THIS YEARS MVP !!! NEXT RATED HANDS DOWN!!! IF DEM NO GIVE YOU PULL A KANYE ON DEM!!” Davido wrote.

American rapper, Kanye West is remembered for his infamous rant at the MTV VMA 2009 award ceremonies when he jumped on stage, grabbed the mic from Taylor Swift who had just received an award and went on to claim Beyonce deserved the award more.
Lil Kesh responded by sharing a snapshot of Davido’s tweet on Instagram while thanking the self-acclaimed Omo Baba Olowo. “Thanks bro @davidoofficial???. Pls ya’ll should vote for me at the headies. God bless??. LISTEN TO THE KIDS BRUH!” he wrote.
The winner of the Next Rated category goes home with a brand new car. One wonders what the other nominees in the category (Cynthia Morgan, Kiss Daniel, Korede Bello and Reekado Banks) will think of Davido’s tweet.
