A 24-year old Zimbabwean student has been placed under observation for Ebola virus in Sarawak, a state in eastern Malaysia, English People Daily reports.
The unnamed student was said to have fallen ill on Saturday, September 13, 2014 and was transferred from a private hospital to the Sarawak General Hospital.
According to Sarawak public health assistant minister, Jerip Susil said the student had no Ebola symptoms except high fever and it would be ascertained if it was really Ebola once test results come back in a week.
According to the report, the student didn’t leave the state, but recently had contacts with several Nigerian students who had just returned from the West African nation, which has had several cases of the virus in recent times.
