The Lagos State Governorship Election Tribunal sitting in Ikeja, Lagos state’s capital, scheduled Friday, June 26, 2015 to decide whether or not to hear the preliminary objection filed by Governor Akunwunmi Ambode of Lagos State against the petition filed by Peoples Democratic party, PDP candidate, Jimi Agbaje in the Saturday, April 28, 2015 election.
Jimi Agbaje is praying that the tribunal declare him the winner of the governorship election, while putting to challenge the declaration of Akinwunmi Ambode by the Independent national Electoral Commission, INEC as the winner of the election.
The suit had been brought up yesterday being Thursday, June 25, 2015 but the tribunal stated it would take care of all preliminary objection alongside with the petitions on Friday, June 26, 2015.
Justice Mohammed Ibrhim Sirajo, the presiding judge, however, subjected the issues to argument asking parties in the matter to make their submissions.
