#SoundOff: Tunde Fashola As ‘President General’, By @FavourAfolabi

Must read

[dropcap]F[/dropcap]rom controlling an annual N500 billion + budget in Lagos, “The Best President ever – even more than Obama” will now sit on a N433bn budget as “Supra Minister of 3 Ministries” in 2016! Gbam!

We can now expect a shift from #EkoONiBaje to #AbujaONiBaje – expect all the “Fat Contractors attached to Bourdillon Plc” to continue to chop; and expect “all the FG roads in Nigeria to be completed via Propaganda;” expect FT, WashingtonPost, WSJ, CNN, etc to begin to push editorials from January with titles like “African finds its own Obama”; “Expect to see Power in your House for 4 hours a day with the impression of having 20 hours of it in a day.”

You see – nothing ever #Changes – it all remains the same – you will be given the impression “1 million Houses has been built in 2016 to cut the deficit of 17 million homes” when in reality “Only ground breaking ceremonies would be held” – your fellow educated lot – especially in Lagos would soon begin to author Op-eds in the middle of 2016 “campaigning for Buhari to anoint Fashola as his replacement for 2019 considering how he laid the roads of Nigeria with Gold.”

When you sit on “an annual N400 billion to N500 billion budget” you can always allocate a lot to “Positive Propaganda laced with opium to give the gullible ones a lot of good feelings about how you’re not serving them” – they will always be willing to defend you even when they are losing as they do – and most importantly, there would be many people that see you “as the solution to their poverty” since they need you to get a lot of contracts and would therefore never come against you lest they enter your bad books. When you sit on 24% of the total capital expenditure of a nation as one minister, who even needs “to bother seeing the President sef?”

As I said in my estate party over the weekend, “the subject of the sterling years of Fashola came up” and there it went again “The David Cameron of Africa” – leading me to congratulate “his followers” and himself with the conclusion “Now that he sits of the combined juiciest portfolios in Abuja, let us see how he will outperform himself” – at least, they say “to whom much is given, much is expected?”
