Palpable fear gripped a crowd at Konwea Plaza in Asaba, Delta State after a chicken allegedly pecked a buyer to coma.
The victim identified as Sunday Ibie became unconscious after he was allegedly pecked in the eyes by the said chicken which was put up for sale during the festive period.
Eye-witnesses were said to have ran for cover after the incident played out at the plaza, according to reports.
Ibie was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre Asaba, in his unconscious state for medical attention.
The owner of the chicken identified as Mama Ekene confirmed that the chicken attacked her customer after they had settled for N3,000.
