Immediate past minister of environment, Mrs. Laurentia Laraba Mallam, and her husband, Mr. Pius Mallam, 73, have been kidnapped along Kaduna-Abuja Expressway on Monday, October 3, 2016.
According to a source who spoke to The Trent, the couple was abducted at Bwari/Jere axis in the evening.
Aliyu Usman, the spokesperson for the Kaduna Police Command confirmed the news to Daily Trust saying were taken away by the kidnappers while the driver was spared.
“He assured that all hands are on deck to ensure their release and the perpetrators are brought to face the full draft of the law,” the report said.
“He noted that information gathered is sketchy and will prepare a detailed account of what happened to the media soon,” it added.
The kidnappers have reportedly contacted the Mallam family to demand for N10 million as ransom to secure their release.
