CARDIFF, United Kingdom — Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury will meet at the Principality Stadium on December 11. Netflix will broadcast the heavyweight bout worldwide.
The date and venue were confirmed on Thursday, September 24, 2026.
The two former world champions had signed contracts earlier this year while those arrangements remained unresolved.
Previous negotiations produced an agreement in principle for two fights in 2020 and signed contracts in 2021.
The latter attempt ended after Deontay Wilder won an arbitration case requiring Fury to face him for a third time. Another attempt in 2022 also failed despite Joshua accepting a 60–40 split.
Cardiff was chosen after London’s Wembley Stadium and New York’s Madison Square Garden were considered. Joshua had pressed for the fight to take place in Britain.
The UK start time could extend into the early hours of Saturday, according to a BBC Sport report republished by News Express.
Organisers were considering that timing to accommodate audiences in the United States.
The stadium has previously hosted boxing after midnight. Joe Calzaghe’s fight against Mikkel Kessler in November 2007 began at 1am GMT.
Officials from Cardiff Council and the Welsh Rugby Union said they supported the event. Some arrangements for staging it still needed to be settled.
Saudi boxing organiser Turki Alalshikh’s The Ring and UFC chief Dana White are collaborating on the promotion.
Netflix’s announcement set out the December event.
Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, had previously opposed White’s involvement, according to BBC Sport. The Netflix news release did not include an official statement from Hearn or Fury’s promoter, Frank Warren.
The fighters are due to appear together at a London news conference on September 30.
