All things are of Him. In other words, He is the source of all things. He is the source of success, He is the source of wealth, He is the source of wisdom, He is the source of talents, ability, achievements, and everything else that you can think of, therefore all glory must be to Him.
All things are through Him. Like Paul said, I can do all things through Christ. Not by power, not by might, but by His Spirit. And all things are to Him. It’s good to always have this mindset; knowing that all things are for Him, through Him and to Him not only keeps you humble, it helps you return all the glory back to the Lord.
Don’t ever make the mistake that Herod made! It’s a fatal one. On a set day he was arrayed in royal apparel, sat on his throne and gave an oration to the people of Tyre and Sidon. And the people kept shouting, “The voice of a god and not of a man!” The praises of the people made Herod feel like a super human; he received their “worship” instead of restraining the people as Paul and Barnabas did. After a miracle was done to a crippled man in Lystra, the people raised their voices, saying “The gods have come down to us in the likeness of men!” They called Barnabas Zeus, and Paul, Hermes, because he was the chief speaker. The priest of Zeus brought oxen and garlands intending to sacrifice with the multitudes. But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul saw it, they tore their clothes and ran in among the multitude, crying out and saying, “Men, why are you doing these things? We also are men with the same nature as you!” Herod did not do as Paul and Barnabas did, so an angel of the Lord struck him, and he was eaten by worms and died. All the glory must be to the Lord.
