Former president of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan arrives Zambia where is is expected to perform election observation duties in the South African country.
Dr. Jonathan is the leader of the African Union Elections Observation Mission, AUEOM. He was welcomed at the Lusaka International Airport in the early hours of Saturday, August 6, 2016 by the African Union team and Zambian government officials.
This assignment is Dr. Jonathan’s 2nd high profile election monitoring assignment since he peacefully handed over power to his successor, General Muhammadu Buhari in May 2015. The first was in Tanzania where he was the leader of the Commonwealth election observer team.
